Our Focus

I’m running to remove practical barriers that families feel every day. This page lays out the changes I'll prioritize from day one.

Transportation: safe, reliable rides so students can reach the schools that fit them

Goal: safe, reliable ways for students to reach the schools that fit them. School Choice isn't real unless kids can actually get to the schools they choose. I will:

  • Champion targeted pilots for student transportation on the longest choice-school routes.

  • Press for bell-time coordination with MTA and public reporting on on-time performance and hub safety.

After-School: athletics, arts, clubs, and tutoring in every neighborhood

Goal: athletics, arts, clubs, and tutoring in every neighborhood.

  • Protect and champion programs that work; streamline approvals so schools can launch new programs quickly.

  • Expand partnerships (rec centers, nonprofits, universities) and offer staff stipends where possible.

Safe, Healthy Buildings: no excuses

Goal: classrooms with working HVAC, safe water, roofs, and ADA access.

  • Require a plain-language facilities dashboard with timelines and photo proof of completion.

  • Prioritize life-safety and preventive maintenance in budget votes.

End Stranded Assets: stop paying for empty space; create community value

Goal: stop paying for empty space; create community value.

  • Publish an inventory of underused/closed buildings and evaluate for reuse or sale.

  • Direct net savings and proceeds to student-facing needs (transportation, after-school, repairs).
